Chicken Soup for the Fisherman’s Soul
A book review
By Mark Hutchinson
There are times when I love nothing more than relaxing in my favourite chair, spending a few hours flipping through a fishing magazine or a well written novel.
This past Christmas, my younger sister gave me a copy of Chicken Soup for the Fisherman’s Soul, and I have to say that it was a very entertaining read! I wanted to take a quick moment to write up a very short review for anyone who may want to check this out, or purchase this book as a fantastic gift for someone who loves to fish.
This book makes for a wonderful read! I love to just open it up at random and read stories. It has a great collection of stories that strikes so many cords in my memories of growing up fishing as well as hilarious cartoons and a great section entitled “reel men” which we will ALL be able to relate to! This book is a real “guy” book in the sense that it has short, interesting stories about fishing that aren’t too sappy like some of the other “chicken soup” books. Having said this, there are some stories submitted by women as well which makes this a great book for everyone.
If you need a quick and inexpensive gift for someone’s birthday, Christmas gift, or even just a surprise, this is DEFINITELY your ticket!
